Here are my recent thoughts since dinner last night:

If I were to publish what will most likely be just a fanfic, I wouldn't make anyone mean (or dumb) just to make the show funny, especially if it didn't reflect that person's personality from real life. Humor is secondary. Important, but secondary. My old ideals for a domestic show would be a drama first, and then a comedy. There's a difference between applying humor to make any given show interesting, and using it as the basis for that show. What's more important, though, is some kind of a plot.

From what Dad told me once, it is near impossible to make it into any TV studio, and it wouldn't even be worth it. For one thing, it makes a job out of your creative talent. Only the most diligent authors ever get hired, and I am not one of them. Second of all, the characters of Mon Colle Knights, like any other show, are copyrighted to the respective owner, and if you're writing something based on your own life, you pretty much can't use anyone's real name. Finally, there are deadlines which need to be met. If you can't meet them, your show is on the cancellation line. This is why Boston Public evolved from a regular, real-time soap opera into just another episodic show: it's because the plots weren't given enough time to develop.

On the other hand, since last night, I've been feeling like I want some opposition as to how to run my own show. I once watched the hockey movie Miracle, and have seen similar opposition between the coach and his adviser as to how to run the team. Tonight, I asked Mom about why I sometimes think that way, and also asked if it was from an adrenaline rush. She said yes. Brian asked me if I actually had any scripts, or if I was just looking for an argument. I answered with the latter. After dinner, I did talk about it some more, and she said that it's good to be adamant about your ideals, instead of simply giving in. She also told me that the people who did make it into the TV industry have the same feelings, so now I'm grateful that those people can carry out some opposition for me, even if it's not my ideals in particular.

Finally, I do understand that The OC would've been a better choice than All My Children. However, this year's season is over, so all I can do right now is wait until it continues airing.
