Jun. 19th, 2014 05:49 amNoticed two birds sitting near Masem Court yesterday afternoon when I was about to have a walk, one after the other. Since they were obviously unable to fly, it seems likely that they either fell out of the next or the mother kicked them out. Showed Mom, and then took pictures and footage with her iPad to share with Chelle when everything's uploaded.
So far, Mom did share a pic of each bird on my Facebook timeline, along with one 30-second video where I panned from one bird to the other.
Unfortunately, there are no direct links to Facebook images themselves, but here's the link to my timeline itself:

Date: 2019-07-17 11:56 am (UTC)Young birds on the ground that can't fly don't necessarily mean they are kicked out or lost. With some bird species, like blackbirds, a young too large for the nest will live on the ground for a bit while the parents are around to stand guard. They still feed and protect them till they can do so on their own. I've never seen two of them, though, it's always been just one.
