Parasitic Trio is officially dead. I've sent Jake a copy of the outline and several related documents, and gave him permission to continue the ficseries for himself if he would like to.
Really, I thought I'd be a lot more dedicated to all the math that goes into planning each chapter than I've been. As you can guess, though, all the work I created for myself is nothing like playing an actual game and letting it process everything for you as you go along. The main purpose of Parasitic Trio was to "play" the games to my preferences and see how all the variables unfold, but of course, to everyone else, what they'd be seeing would be the equivalent to watching someone else's playthrough of anything on YouTube instead of playing it themselves. And besides which, the purpose of video games to begin with is to unwind from everything else I do, which is exactly the opposite of what I did whenever I determined what goes on according to formulas I created for myself. Frankly, life is too short to be trudging through all that, to say nothing of all the games that came out and have yet to come since HeartGold and SoulSilver, for which I never planned anything out in particular.
For all the hours I spent playing the games, all I can say, is that it was all fun while it lasted. From the days when Pokemon Gold and Silver were such a big deal late in 2000, to the times I spent with the PokeWalker while playing SoulSilver throughout 2010. I enjoyed reading my guides for Black and White when we stayed in Boston a few years ago for Marie's college graduation, but since then, the only thing that really piqued my interest was the concept of Mega Evolutions introduced in X and Y.
With that, I think I'll look into selling all my handheld game consoles and Pokemon player's guides on Ebay. Was going to do that whenever Parasitic Trio would have ended, but at the rate I've been going, I'd be an old man, if not already dead, before that happens. If Jake does decide to continue the ficseries, I'll still update it on Fanfiction.net with each chapter he writes.
