So, a little while ago, I was hoping to get started with chapter 6 of Starbound, and asked Jake for some tips on what should go on in Magicant. That got thrown off when he asked if Yuka of the Beehive Brigade is still a flat character, and I figured from there that it might be better to have everyone's personalities more fleshed out ahead of time before I continue with the fic.

Can't remember what inspired me, but while I was working on a spreadsheet, I got the urge to look over the game script and revise it. That, in turn, made me want to create some sprites, to eventually give to Brian to program to do stuff. After completing two spritesheets of the main four (one nude, the other in bikinis), I decided to have a little break, and ended up playing Getter Love!! for more than a week. After that, I began working on a few sprites of Rokuna by modifying what I had just created of Kagami, and spent a lot of that time both shaping her bangs and refining the flow lines on her hive. Needless to say, that was a real chore, and I'm gonna have to shape everyone's entire hairstyles whom I still have yet to create, after fixing certain things up with all my existing sprites.

That would be the reason why I want something else to enjoy viewing, so as to hold myself over, be it voice samples, mugshots, or the beginning of the Original Ones' story. While I've instead taken back to Candy Crush again, I did manage to do some homework on how to recruit voice actors, after having discussed that issue with Mom yesterday. From what I gather, outside the Internet, voice actors are recruited mainly through agencies. Looked one up within New York State, navigated it, and from there, it finally occurred to me to look for everyone's original voice actors. Expensive as they may be, if I can afford a deal with any of them, then there would be no one more suited for the task than the ones who gave each character his or her English voice in the first place. (If not, then I might come back to them later if I ever do have enough of a budget.)

Prior to that, Mom did address the issue of any given person's availability between two points, that whoever might be available to voice someone now might very well not be five years down the road, which might lead to different voices breaking sync of the respective character. Not only is this common enough anyway, but that is also why I have just looked into contacting the original VAs yesterday, and it would be better to get in touch with them sooner while they're still fairly fresh than later on when even their natural voices are different. Chelle has also suggested that I voice at least one of my own characters, in order to cut costs, and while I did describe my reasons not to almost a year ago, I might actually consider voicing Ivo, a major antagonist, as well as a few minor characters.

Anyway, the fact that the fic is nowhere even close to completion is gonna be a problem as far as anything else goes, be it the game adaptation itself or voice-acting. I need to continue with it at some point, but before I do that, I also need to get back to characterizing everyone on that spreadsheet. Whether that be now or later, the spritesheets are also going to remain an issue, so I suppose I might as well continue with those for however long I'm even a little inclined (which I'm still more so than with the spreadsheet).
