At this point, I think my muse for Parasitic Trio might be returning after all, what with Starbound and the Cibus project both off the table right now.

Tomorrow, I'll probably take that pedometer I bought a while ago and only opened recently and take a walk once and for all to determine how Jamie's first PokeWalker session unfolds. Upon finishing the chapter, I will look through the player's guide I just re-bought for Pokemon Black and White before starting another chapter (probably for Ellen). All goes well enough, I might very well re-buy those for BW2 and X/Y.

I actually remember back when I started the chapter months ago, discovering the three new berry species introduced in gen VI, and being able to fit them nicely in the story outline's section dealing with berries and Natural Gift, thanks specifically to the new 18th type Fairy. So, that's a good sign right there.

As for event-only Pokemon and items, there have been a good few from Gen V onward. At this point, the mons in question could be classified between unlocking full-fledged events, unlocking simple gimmicks, and netting items when shown to someone. However, certain individual mons and items alike are still worth noting:

Surfing Pikachu: What better place to start than Generation One, when the only other renowned giveaway was Mew. Of course, that was a tie-in with Pokemon Yellow, which in turn was meant to tie in with the anime. All he unlocked, though, was a little mini-game, which didn't affect the main game in any way, so, not a big deal.

Celebi and the Shiny Legendary Beasts: Would have been nice to experience the respective events in White, had I not stopped playing and eventually sold my games. However, the Beasts are supposed to be one-of-a-kind each, given their backstory (so is Celebi, but she time-travels), and in a game that made a point of featuring only new mons in its main game, the only conceivable way for this to happen would be if the mains in Parasitic Trio might retire and release most of the mons they caught to be sent to other parts of the world, or something like that. (I do understand, though, that this whole thing was meant to promote the 13th movie Zoroark: Master of Illusions.)

The Lock Capsule: Still one of the twelve items likely to be given away at the Pal Park. Would have contained TM 95 of Gen V (Snarl), had it ever been released for the games. Decided to add that (along with two other moves) to Sinnoh's TM roster, only to realize then that half of said roster was comprised of the entire one from Gen III (something I disagree with but is justified to prevent connectivity issues). That's the point at which I decided to bring the Sinnoh roster back to an even 50, maintaining only a few shared with the other regions'. (Conceivably, this could still contain the same thing, but its means of opening would be to attach it to a Pokemon to be traded through the Global Trade Station and let the recipient see what's inside.)

Reshiram and Zekrom: Would have just unlocked what Bulbapedia specifies as the "Pokemon Movie special home" when sent to the Dream World. Can't understand whether that's supposed to mean a movie called Special Home or a place called Pokemon Movie, but the former case wouldn't matter that much.

Diancie: I understand that getting one of these in an event is supposed to net you Diancite, but two things here: First, why couldn't that just be bundled with her (instead of either a Normal Gem or nothing)? Second, that's gonna be a moot point for Parasitic Trio, because Mega Evolutions will be carried out via a pair of orbs that Ellen will be requested to search Cerulean Cave for after finding the Sapphire and an Emerald for Celio and exploring the remaining Sevii Islands from there. (That carries its own storyline altogether.)

Hoopa: Nets you the Prison Bottle, with which to invoke its Unbound forme, at the next PokeMart you visit in OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. Being a 6th-gen Pokemon, this would obviously take place in Kalos instead, but I also understand that there was going to be a third counterpart to X and Y, Z, for the first time since Gen IV.

Shiny Beldum from Steven: Saw a request to add the info for this (but not for Diancie or Hoopa) in when I was about to edit that page (didn't actually do so), but couldn't see anything about what this is supposed to do.

Discount Tickets: Only usable at boutiques, which currently exist only in Kalos, and would have likely served as lesser prizes at the Pal Park since they are strictly business-related.
