Dec. 26th, 2016 05:42 amGot a bunch of stuff this year.
One thing from my stocking was this scratch card called Holiday Bonus!, with which I supposedly won $20,000. This turned out to be a joke when Brian actually read the back:
Winning tickets of $10,000 or more must submit claim form by mail. Claim forms supplied by Santa Claus. All winning tickets must be validated by the Tooth Fairy and conform to her game rules. Winning prizes may NOT be clamed anywhere, so forget about it! All winners are losers and must have an excellent sense of humor.
Holder must complete this portion in invisible ink. THIS TICKET IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.
Some of us wondered where the ticket actually came from, but Mom told us that someone left it on her desk, and also thought it was real.
Moving on, while I left most of my candy in my stocking, I noticed that Brian got a mint-flavored chocolate orange (same flavor I turned out to have), while Marie got a raspberry-flavored one.
Also got some gift cards for Toast Coffeehouse, Starbucks, and Subway.
And, volume 1 of Puella Magi Oriko Magica: Sadness Prayer and volume 3 of Puella Magi Tart Magica, each in a separate box more than big enough to fit both of them. At first, I thought maybe she wasn't able to get Tart v. 3 upon opening Sadness Prayer v. 1, was gonna ask after we finished opening presents, and then it occurred to me that that might've been a joke. Especially when you consider that such shipping instructions as "Refridgerate upon arrival" were still there.
For everyone else, I got the following:
Brian: That copy of the Sonic Mega Collection Plus that I already mentioned under a few cuts.
Marie: The Adventures of Pete & Pete, seasons 1 and 2 (S. 3 isn't out.)
Mom: A new squeegee
Dad: A bronzecasting mask and a chisel.
-----
Had Aunt Allison, Blas, Blas's dog Carlos (a black cross between a cocker spaniel and a poodle), Cousin Steven, Jordan (whom he's due to marry in June), Grandpa Bob, Uncle Robby, and Cousin Adam over, and we all had a huge feast for early dinner, consisting of salmon, roast beef, mashed potatoes, asparagus, etc. For dessert, we had an Italian lemon cream cake and a chocolate cherry trifle.
Not much happened that I bothered involving myself in while everyone was here. Having so many people over might not be the best time to read anything, so I might have to read Sadness Prayer over one of these days.
Soon as Allison, Blas, and Steven left, I sent a recollection of my life in 4th grade out to Jake, Chelle, Mrs. Silverman, Nancy down the street, several of my then-classmates, and everyone in our extended family. (Gonna need to print a physical copy today to send to Mrs. Bandows, since she doesn't use email.)
-----
To wrap things up, Jake told me last night that my gift to him was the only present he got for Christmas this year, and that both his sisters are pregnant. Brian, later on, managed to read chapter 2 of the Cibus fic just shortly before I went to bed.
