dmxratedAll of us ate breakfast out at Toast Coffeehouse yesterday (same place we went for Marie's 18th birthday), and Brian and I each used a $50 gift card to chip in. Dad drove us around town for a bit after we finished, and we made a stop each at Setauket Harbor and West Meadow Beach.

Brian had finished reading Cibus Esculentus Madoka Magica two nights ago, including the epilogue and reviews, and thought only highly of it (even though he did say that the epilogue could have packed more punch without the very last line in chapter 4).
Went over a few other things several hours after we came back home yesterday, and he pretty much talked me out of even trying to re-factor the fic, specifying it as a common urge that should be resisted in order to move on and produce new things. (I told him later that it would feel awkward to have that one fic written in someone else's words while all spinoff fics be my own writing, but he did say that Early Installment Weirdness like that is just something to embrace.)
(It's a good thing I already plan among other things on a fic to establish a past relationship between Kyoko and Yuma, in place of Kyoko and Mami's failed relationship in The Different Story. The events following Yuma's death would be a good opportunity to either account for or overwrite her deal about territory that probably shouldn't have been an in-story issue in the main fic, a separate timeline could establish Nagisa's role to remind Kyoko of Yuma (as well as giving everyone a chance to all fight together beforehand), and I'd also say that a fic about Homura's timelines in general might also be in order. Parasitic Trio is different, though, because Jake is a lot better at incorporating the same kind of fanservice that inspired that whole gimmick involving the pixie trio, to say nothing of fleshing events in general out.)

We three kids and Mom then watched the beginning of the first episode of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, but the others didn't think that highly of it. However, the show's involvement of Twitter did inspire her to load up this movie called Chef that she and Dad watched several times recently (given it's protagonist's use of the site throughout; I saw part of it one of those times, but that's it).
