Sep. 20th, 2006 09:18 amYesterday and today, Mom and I took the Long Island Expressway instead of Horseblock Road to school. Instead of coming to the parking lot at the top of the hill, I was dropped off at the traffic circle near the gymnasium. On my way to the Babylon Student Center, I noticed two cats in the bushes, each with a can of cat food. They looked almost like our cat Sabrina, with gray fur on the back and white fur on the underside, but with slightly shorter tails and a slightly darker shade of gray.
After my writing class ended, I noticed Hyacinth in the hall. I stopped by for a few minutes and chatted with her. I told her that it's been a year since I sent her an email, which she never responded to, and she told me that she's moving to South Carolina on the first of November. That explains why she didn't give me her phone number last year and why she said that her computer was down; they were both disinstalled. She, in fact, did give me her phone number at the end of 12th grade.
After Mom picked me up, we had to go to the Barber Shop. Mom missed the exit on Sunrise Highway, but only by one more, and we managed to get there. On the way there, though, we passed through the Bohemia neighborhood where Matthew used to live, and I asked her if that's where we really were passing through. She told me that Matthew's family moved away two years ago to Florida. (What a coincidence; two people will have moved south by Thanksgiving this year.)
Marie missed the bus for the second time this week, the first being just yesterday. Dad had to drive her yesterday before coming back to drive me to campus, and Mom had to drive her today before coming back. Coincidentally in Blondie, Dagwood told his wife and coworkers that Elmo missed the bus, and they had to drive him to school. They were all unhappy, except for Elmo who commented on how quieter it is in the car than on the bus.
