dmxratedMom and I had a short walk through Bellport yesterday afternoon, combining that with some errands she had to run.
During the ride there, I noticed these lawn signs for someone named Josh Slaughter for Suffolk County Legislator. I asked Mom if "Slaughter" is his actual surname or something derogatory, but apparently, it's an actual last name, if not a common one.
Among other things, we happened to notice a steel girder extracted from the World Trade Center, standing as a memorial for 9/11, while we were walking.

From a thread I started on the ROMhacking forum, someone linked me last night to two of this person's videos showcasing how certain graphical effects were once pulled off on the Sega Genesis:
