The circumstances seemed to line up these past couple of days to warrant a trip to Barnes & Noble. Mom gave me a hundred two nights ago that she had previously borrowed from my bank account, which would warrant a bank visit; today is Saturday, which means she's gonna be home from work, which will make things less than conducive to start playing anything; and I'm currently doing business with someone on Upwork who's been taking hours at a time to get back to me.

On the way to the gym yesterday, Mom tried to talk me out of having her drive on such a nice day as today's supposed to be, and into just ordering what I need online and even seeing if I can order anything for Kindle, but I told her I would like to pass time, not to mark more things down than necessary on an index card, and to sort of randomize it, and frankly, it just feels more special when you go somewhere to buy something.

To begin with, Marie will not be able to visit us for Christmas this year, since she needs to pinch her pennies after having been unemployed for so long, so we were planning to have a little mini-Christmas with her when she's home for Thanksgiving weekend.

Mom actually did change my mind, though, when she said that we're not actually having a gift exchange with her to begin with. She has still acknowledged how I like to eat out, though, and promised to take me out somewhere today. (Might suggest breakfast when she wakes up, if it gets light out yet, but we otherwise might just combine lunch with the aforementioned bank visit.)

(In any case, at this point, I should probably have the spoons to start over with Mother on Monday. Today and tomorrow, my focus will be on the firewood and Wanikani.)
