Sep. 14th, 2018 05:54 amYesterday's round of Kiratto Kaiketsu! dragged on until 10 AM, when it got cut short after Dad flipped a breaker off while working in the basement. That being the beginning of my normal lunch period, I decided to skip breakfast and just make myself a burger for lunch. Seeing how I'm supposed to wean myself off of cereal after Mom told me about an article she read about an autistic girl whose negative tendencies went down when her family cut back on sugar, but haven't had the spoons to cook some sausages after the more lengthy rounds of that game, I guess I not only did cut back but staved a few pounds altogether. (The other day, I had managed to skip lunch after eating breakfast later than usual and getting heavily engaged in a file I started writing that morning.)
Been proofreading my Mother 3 walkthrough these past couple of days. Yesterday afternoon, Dad told me that he was going to flip another breaker, and I thought he meant immediately, so I closed the file, took a little walk, but my computer was still on, so I assumed he did whatever he had to, and did some more proofreading before the computer itself blipped out on me.
What a coincidence it was that yesterday was the day to vote for midterm elections, with my trip with Mom to Eagle Elementary to do so to fill part of that time in. Before we actually left, though, I also had something to address in my notebook while Mom had some downtime with Dad after coming home from work.
Coming back home, we had to stop at the corner by Masem Court for a school bus, and I decided to get out right there to have a walk.
I didn't bother turning my computer back on for the rest of the afternoon. Instead, I decided to read one of our old Tintin books that have been in my bookcase for years after previously living in Marie's room, making it to page 22 before noticing my computer monitor return on, which I then took as a cue to check on Mom, who was looking at her iPad while still in bed. She asked me if I know those kids we saw getting of the bus or any of their parents, but I told her we just happened to be stopped in a convenient spot.
I then told her about what I had written, which I was primarily planning to show Brian, and showed her asking if she'd be interested as well. As in particular to how Hergé decided where to have his characters go, she told me that he had probably drawn inspiration from places he had gone to on vacation.
In any case, I really enjoyed having read the one book so far. Not only could I totally picture my own party doing anything similar, but the book in question, Tintin in Tibet, carries quite a few similarities to part of Flint's chapter in Mother 3, including the premise itself (a rescue mission), Chang's scarf in the crags (part of Hinawa's dress in a clifftop tree), and Snowy being sent to get help (Boney being sent to retrieve Duster to help climb said cliff itself). Subsequent books should also help ease my boredom for after I come back to Starbound, when I write as much as I can for each day but shouldn't indulge in any video games, which would then become the first thing I want to do each day (as has been the case with Kiratto Kaiketsu!, although proofreading or just getting stuff out of my system isn't as hard to stay on top of as setting my mind to each story bit and trying to figure out what will happen and how things will play out).
