dmxratedBrian arrived two nights ago. I showed him the contest terms yesterday before we went out to lunch.
In a nutshell, all things considered, I will probably be better off just delegating each arc in Starbound to others, instead of trying to get them to brainstorm ideas for myself to use. I mean, it took a year after I first conceived it to plan out the first chapter, another year and a half to write four more and Birthday of Destiny, and four more to get around to chapter 6, which I proceeded slowly through and had to take multiple breaks from, although those (and especially that one) were necessary in order to set things up. With the whole rest of the story, I can only imagine myself barely scraping through with each arc, and I obviously can't know how stuff works in other countries as much as I know about Japan through anime (reflections of their creators' culture).
All those games I've got plans for were going to be for between actual chapters, with other games filling in for whenever I need a break from writing. Food Fantasy in particular was going to be for when I'm past my writing prime for each day that I actually write anything, but now it seems like I am basically free to play through game after game and blow through the rest of my Tintin books while I do little but gaze out the window for other people to do the actual work.
It does help my confidence, though, that I actually had gotten someone to see a whole Cibus fic about Kyoko and Yuma through, who has stated having only one more chapter left at this point. It also helps to be getting back into WaniKani once and for all, something I will still be responsible for for the foreseeable future and would not have needed back when I was busy writing.
Still, I do have some revisions to make to the contest file before I launch that, and I really hope not to be reminding myself of my own planned game while things go nowhere with anyone else.
