dmxratedSo far, it turns out that the Food Soul portraits aren't even anywhere within the APK, but in the file that the game itself downloads when you first run it. That's as far as Yong has been able to go with this project, but I have sought others out to take over for him.
Yesterday, I asked Mom if we could hit the bank after she comes home from work, and she got suspicious when I brought it up again after she got home, after asking why I'd be so anxious to go. After a bit of grilling, I showed her an exchange I had with someone on Discord, and she inevitably just talked me out of it, citing so many other things I could do with my money aside from some pictures on my phone to supposedly wank off to.
I did figure out several alternatives, but just so we're clear about this, I also want a more authentic experience with the game than what Elex is providing outside of Japan, and I would have found places to re-distribute the final product online, along with some instructions on how to install it. I would have also taken certain measures to protect myself from being scammed.
"So what's the big deal?" Trivial as it may be, I do find it rather insulting that people would even do this, supposedly to avoid any kind of backlash, in a game that's not even aimed specifically at children (unlike say, Pokemon), nevermind how many people already bear abs or cleavage even in real life and that even cutscenes and such remain untouched.
To begin with, though, I knew there'd be some difficulty taking this on, but not this much. Along with the money this is turning out to cost, this has also become a major distraction from Starbound, given how excited I get when I think I'm another step further in the right direction. I might actually write this game off if anyone somewhere I've asked can suggest a different open-ended game that also involves food for your characters and with everyone completely intact.
