dmxratedOn the way to Grandpa's house the other day, I practiced naming all the notes to the "stage complete" jingle from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for half an hour, and then asked Marie if she could name them. For those of you who never played that game, it goes like "Do Re Fa, ReFaSoLaTiREMIIIIIIIPsch!" She and Mom noticed that I was using the sound of someone getting punched in movies, but the actual sound that marks the end of the song can't be pronounced orally. This song only appears VGMusic's Master System list, if anyone's interested, by the way.
Last night, Marie's friend Joe came over, and Marie asked me to play that song on VGMusic. He says he played just about every single Sonic game that exists, but I played it anyway. Then, I
-played John Weeks' STH2 MIDI for Green Hills, which is more dynamic than the authentic version of the song. Marie then asked if that was the song I thought up some Mon Colle Knights lyrics for.
-I then printed up my own lyrics to the song and wrote down some information about it.
-told them about Sega's Sonic CD remix to their own song, called You Can Do Anything, and showed them the "Sonic Can Do Anything" page.
-finally showed them the Mecha Green Hills theme from Sonic Chaos when I came back a few minutes after letting them have the computer.
