Not very invested in Super Paper Mario. Was expecting much more of a challenge, but enemies are just way too easy to avoid, and I'm basically just going through the motions to solve puzzles. I even read someone else's review who played the game much more in depth, reflected in my notebook on any possible differences from Mother 3 (another I found somewhat underchallenging last year, after originally focusing mostly on just completing the game during my first playthroughs from 2011-13), and wound up comparing it to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, another 2D ARPG that would still be a challenge even if it had items to heal yourself with, where enemies can actually threaten you even without coming after you directly.

This might be for the better, since I expected to spend more than a week with this game before returning to Starbound and getting through at least those two opening scenes for chapter 8.

(Admittedly, I am sort of in the mood for Disgaea again, but while it does help that I'm not feeling this for anything else like The World Ends With You, I still have Suikoden II and ePSXe to try out first. I'm pretty sure David would be disappointed if, should he ask on Thanksgiving, I were to tell him that I found myself somewhat more inclined towards something else. I have felt this before with, say, Persona 5, and got past it pretty easily.)

Brian and Marie managed to catch a few sea bass while they were out, and Mom relayed some pictures they took to me and others. They came home at 1, and Marie showed me the since-fileted fish in a couple of plastic baggies.

Mom did cook those fish up for dinner, but made me and Marie some carbonara first while the three of us played a round of Scrabble first. At some point during the game, Marie suggested we go to Friendly's for dessert, and I asked after we ate dinner if she actually meant that or was just trying to catch my attention, but she confirmed the former. Brian, however, was watching something with Dad, and I joined them before eventually asking how much longer it is (turned out 11 more of 22 minutes), and we decided just to go then, only for Marie to come inside from the car. Brian offered to bring me instead, but I said I thought all three of us were going to go, since it was Marie's idea in the first place.

In contrast to how lively she seemed before, she was at that point untalkative and displayed signs of annoyance. Me and Brian chatted more than a bit at the restaurant, but eventually, Brian asked her about her attitude, and she broke into some rant about how hard a time everyone's supposedly been giving her lately.

When we got home, she demanded Brian come inside to speak to her, and Brian decided instead just to have a drive around town until she cools down. She went inside with just me, and proceeded to call Mom and Dad out on various things. (Brian eventually came home, and chalked her attitude up to a caffeine crash while he and Mom spoke. Marie herself, meanwhile, did manage to lighten back up, even telling me that she tried pressing her face against the cat's back and finding it worth it while comparing her belly, when I asked, to punching someone there.)
