Aug. 25th, 2019 06:20 amMom and I both went to the gym and Walmart yesterday morning, and watched another Earthbound clip for the first time in a short while after we got home. Mom invited Brian and Marie to come watch. Marie watched part of it, but then left the room, and I'm sure her mood at the time did not help her interest. With Brian still there, though, he and Mom both commented on various things the whole way through.
This taking place beneath Stonehenge, and since I skip through most battles (at Mom's request from early on), I mentioned at one point that I had Jeff obtain a Super Bomb by Spying on a Starman Super, who on its own can normally yield the legendary Sword of Kings but was also accompanied by an Atomic Power Robot (along with a regular Starman). I tried to explain how end-of-battle pickups work in this game, but found it a bit hard to before he thought he understood. But, according to Starmen.net:
When you enter a battle (or after YOU WIN! appears on an instant win), an enemy is chosen at random, and then that enemy may or may not decide to drop an item, with probability depending on the enemy. Since the item drop is decided before the battle begins, enemies summoned/called to help cannot drop anything.

Mom drove Marie to the airport back to San Francisco early this morning.
