dmxratedI received an email the other day that some Amtrak points I still have are going to expire next month. Brian and I have discussed coming over to his place after he comes to visit on Thanksgiving, and I thought that would have been where I grind for him in Mother. I suggested that we arrange it for when he comes home for Christmas, but he not only deemed that unrealistic, but also that his apartment is too small for me to spend a whole month at and that he wants to help me continue writing.
Okay, maybe things were different during the month of April several years ago because Emily wasn't living with him at the time, and I should probably ask at some point if such plans as I had would be more conducive when they move into an actual house, or if he's even interested in continuing at any point. Also, while I have given up on writing for the foreseeable future in favor of game content, I would like more story ideas in general for when I commission for the actual game, so at least there's still some point left in coming to visit him.
If he's talking about actual writing, though, then let me mention that not only has writing recently become too much work for barely any results each day anymore, but the fic itself wasn't even the actual point to begin with; all that was going to be was a way to flesh everything out, so that the protagonists all say and do a lot more on a micro level than those in Earthbound did, especially now that that's already been solidified for the first arc and part of the next. I am planning to come back to it eventually for exactly that reason, but only after I have a lot more stuff outlined than I have already.
(This is the part where Chelle basically told me before that I do have all the main points outlined. I had brought this up with Mom yesterday, after having emailed her, Brian, and Marie the other day, and specifically mentioned that, with all its emphasis on four children and eight magical spots to visit, Earthbound could have had a much simpler story than it ended up with, and she agreed that it would've way been too short in such a case. I don't doubt the likely difference, though, that that game had actual themes to run on, while I just want stuff to happen that I could apply mostly gameplay-oriented ideas to.)
