I remember early this semester, Mr. Caulfield (my Writing teacher) told us that every story needs to have a conflict in order to be interesting. Otherwise, it would sound like "I got up in the morning, and then I ate breakfast, and then I walked my dog, and then I brushed my teeth, etc." Half an hour yesterday before that class started, though, I showed him my 12/19/2003 entry from Senior Year (a prequel to this blog), since he might've been interested. There was no conflict, but a lot of stuff happened all in one day that day. He asked if he could keep it, and I let him.

In Adolescent Psychology today, we had that Grab Bag game Ms. Cabble proposed. Each of us was supposed to bring in a gift, and I brought in that Dr. Mario game Matthew once gave me. I chose a bag, and it contained some candles and something I might give to Mom for Christmas. I gave the candles to Shauna. After the game was over, we continued to watch Big Daddy. Meanwhile, Ms. Cabble gave us a box of chocolates that we were supposed to pass around. Eventually, no one wanted any more candies, so I ate almost all of what was left. Before the Period ended, I asked Shyenne if she wanted to trade phone numbers with me, and we did.
I brought the two remaining candies with me inside the box on the way to Period 5. In that class, we were watching A Christmas Carol, but I had already seen it in English. I offered those candies to Michelle, but she didn’t want them, and neither did Ms. Masterjohn or some other student, so I just threw the box out. Michelle and this other girl named Felicia were having a conversation, and I decided to participate. Felicia did most of the talking, but at least I said a few things, so that will bring me a step closer to developing a relationship with them.
Today, I was supposed to see Mr. Lofaso 3rd Period, but I forgot, so I went to his office before 5th Period ended. I left a note for him to call me when he comes back to his office.
During 6th Period, we watched a video about women who abuse their husbands. When it ended, it went into something it taped over. There was something about content in music, and the speaker said it would take several years for the government to decide what’s free speech and what’s just there to sell. During the commercial, there was a Pizza Hut commercial, and someone in my class is like “I remember this commercial.” I asked her when it was aired, and she said five years ago. Hey, that’s the period of time when Chronicles of 7th Grade takes place. So this debate is still going on.
On the way to Period 7, Mr. LoFaso met me in the hall, and he said he had an emergency for some reason 3rd Period, but I reminded him to come get me if I forget to show up in his office.
At the beginning of 7th Period, my class went to some other classroom and sang Merry Christmas, and then we went back to class. Ms. Bolen gave each of us Christmas gifts, and she offered me an extra-long, elastic rubber pencil. It can fit into any size of pocket without breaking.
Today, we didn’t have 9th Period. Instead, 8th Period was extended. There was a concert in the auditorium, and we were watching it on the TV in the Cafeteria. Someone told me about this on my way to my locker. I decided to put this time to good use by drawing. When I went to Guidance North to sharpen my pencil, one of the ladies there offered me some chocolate coins, and I offered that gift I got in Adolescent Psychology. She didn’t want it because she already had a bagful of presents. When I came back and started drawing, a bunch of kids came to me one at a time and socialized with me. Most of them were female, but this boy named Fritz also came to me. He asked me if I remembered him from Earth Science 9th Grade. I told him I remember there was some kid named Fritz in my Math Class during 7th Grade. We had such a nice chat. Several minutes before the day ended, I was about to sharpen my pencil again, and I said Happy Holidays to everyone near me. There was no time to continue drawing since the day was almost over anyway, so I just packed everything up and went to the bus.
When Mom and Dad were both home playing Cribbage, I told them all about my day.
(Note: There was stuff in that document that was left out, but I can still remember somewhat, if not clearly. Before anyone asks for the whole thing, I'd like some time to insert what I feel is missing, especially what with winter vacation coming up.)
When I went to work, everyone was having a Christmas party at the office. I got a bag containing a mug full of candy, along with two plastic candy cane-shaped containers with candy. There was plenty of food being served, but all I had was some chocolates. When I got home, I decided to let Marie have my M&Ms and Hershey Kisses, since I don't really care for those all that much.
Also, Cathy Haack (my supervisor) has already started working on my letter of recommendation yesterday. However, I won't be working at the Annex office during the Winter Semester. Whether I'll keep my job in the spring will depend on whether she and Martha can hire a new supervisor, since they'll both be retiring.
Finally, Dad got the roof finished yesterday. Now all that's left is for me to pick up the rest of the shingle scraps and put them in the dumpster.
