Jul. 3rd, 2020 03:42 pmAnd once again, I am aborting yet another playthrough, after finding out that you only need to fight Utah (rather than actually beat her) in Hong Kong in order to meet her again in Singapore.
By now, though, I actually should be ready to go over the current Starbound outline revision tomorrow. I currently have Mr. Pedal working on the twins' house, and should be ready to compile some images of Kuki when he finishes.
For when I start over, though, here are the decisions I made so far:
1) Between 18 different endings (specifically excluding those where you clock out early), I had originally landed 18 with my two cubic dice, denoting Succession, but since that requires at least four playthroughs, I am simply going to settle for one of the character-specific endings that New Game+ requires. (An actual second playthrough from there can be for the game's randomization walkthrough.)
2) Hard mode.
3) Distinctive girl named Mika, wielding Specials. (Other stands will be for my randomization walkthroughs and playthroughs, and I'm glad this game includes a feature in the beginning to let you choose a different Stand from what you get initially.)
4) Won a Medical Toolkit and a Badge of Honor from F-Mega before first heading out. (I actually made a point of actually clearing each mode as my 8-sided die landed for, w/ 4 and 8 being to quit.)
5) Squeamish.
6) Joined Jotaro against Kakyoin, and then claimed to work for Dio. Denied to Holly being friends with Jotaro, and initially refused to go with everyone.
7) Perfectly healthy.
8) This is where I need to remember to fight Utah, once I take care of Freu, even if I am too underleveled to actually beat her.
9) Left both fights against Polnareff to Abdul. (Initially, I tried fighting the second fight myself, but didn't stand a chance.)
10) Need to recruit Jotaro, Kakyoin, Joseph, Abdul, and then Joseph again, in order to get all their events at the harbor in the quickest order possible. (Accepted a Brass Knuckle from Kakyoin, and Joseph was the one I chose to speak to Stroheim (after Kakyoin proved ineffective while fighting him), fish someone's wallet out of the sea, and fight Emilio with me. Didn't bet against the bunnygirl you can only meet w/ Abdul.)
11) Agreed to a swim with Polnareff on the charter ship, and left Jotaro on his own to fight Dark Blue Moon.
12) Took Polnareff with me on my first trip down the ghost ship, Kakyoin to fight Kate, and then Polnareff again to fight Forever.
13) Paired up with Abdul upon entering Singapore.
(Not retaining shopping decisions, after noticing before editing the above that Tonio's menu is listed only on his character page, not on the walkthrough pages, and doesn't even account for his full-course meal (glad I aborted). What I actually buy also depends on how much money I have at any given point, which would especially vary depending on how many Delinquents I have to fight for an Eerie Tarot Card at the beginning of the game. (Will also need to remember to account for the Bunny Suit at the harbor, since that's only mentioned under optional events.))
(As far as Star Ocean goes, I might play First Departure R again someday, but I would like first to see how easily I could plan out randomization walkthroughs for the rest of the series. If I do come back to that game, though, then the optional characters I chose before getting started had been Ashlay, Phia, Mavelle, and T'nique. Will need to remember then how to go on about any relevant Private Actions throughout the game.)
