Noticed Brian about to drive off yesterday, and came up to him to ask where he was going. He said he was actually looking for me to invite me to Bagels Your Way Cafe, but I guess he didn't see me in the house while I was taking out the recycling.

We started off talking about the Cibus game, and particularly about the dialogue that's supposed to unfold depending on who's in the party. I offered to let him know when I have a randomization walkthrough complete for Eiyuden Chronicle, since dialogue is supposedly going to work similarly there, but he declined, saying that he doesn't want me doing those for his sake, even with Lisa, and in fact, somehow recalls having said that multiple times before but might not have actually communicated clearly enough. (Not sure how I missed the message so many times, because I did refrain from recording Earthbound Zero when he told me he'd rather I do other things with my time.)

His issue with randomizing gameplay, he went on in relation to my planned walkthroughs, is that it's all going to lead to the same outcome in the end, save for games with several different endings. That, however, is exactly why I randomize stuff in games, and why I tend to prefer RPGs in the first place. It's a way to fill in the details while everything story-related remains mostly fixed.

Well, this absolves me for now of Lisa, which I will probably postpone alongside the Earthbound trilogy for after I get the player's guide for Suikoden V for Christmas next year and play that.

(Having already had lunch, I simply had Brian order me a couple of cookies to have as my snack, before receiving the first of six Snack Crate boxes that Marie subscribed me for for Christmas, which I then saved to start having today.)

Abandoning my current playthrough of Suikoden, after realizing that rune pieces cannot be detached from a given weapon. Worse yet, while only elemental rune pieces can be attached in the first place, I only found out upon reading a walkthrough that statistical ones are meant to be consumed directly.

Given how few rune pieces there are overall in the game, with even those dropped by enemies having only a minuscule chance of being so, I should decide before I begin my next playthrough whom I should reserve each for.

So far, I have figured out a few tricks for when I actually play the game over, and would like to try them out at some point. That should probably wait, though, at least until Brian goes back, and I should make a point of getting off the ground with Unity, although I am still feeling inclined to get back to my game files first.
