Apr. 14th, 2021 05:33 amAt this point, I find that I am not so interested in the Cibus game anymore. It seemed an interesting idea before, and was a nice change in pace from Starbound, and I might come back to it later.
At the same time, I have recently gotten the idea for what could be a spiritual successor to Food Fantasy. Brought this up with Brian while coming with him to the gym, and he explained that, not surprisingly, something like that would be way out of my league, and that game development in general is not a simple matter of finding the right people to work on different aspects of a given game in exchange for money; there are all kinds of stuff I'm gonna need to research.
After coming home, I found a couple of book previews through Google Books, and also something someone explained on Quora. I have yet to read those previews, but according to that other thing, I am going to need to prove that I can contribute more than just ideas personally.
Right now, even though Brian is here to help me now, I am still dying for some game time already, even if I don't end up playing Revenant Kingdom in particular (which I wasn't able to start up and might need Brian to upgrade my computer for). However, this is exactly why I took up graphics personally, in order to have something to showcase, and seeing how my other strength already lies in devising game mechanics, I would be most inclined to learn particularly how to actually program those.
That person also mentioned an advantage to those who've actually completed something before, as proof that they won't peter out on those involving themselves with their project. As an alternative to Unity, I might put my particular skills towards someone else's project before looking into getting my own projects off the ground.
(Seeing how I would still like to do randomization walkthroughs, and with that series to end with Lucky Star: Day of the Beehive, running my own answer to Food Fantasy can wait until Day of the Beehive is already finished and out, if I'm even still interested in doing it. I might play Food Fantasy again if it's still in service by then, just to comb through what I liked about it and what I'd do differently, but I am also thinking of compiling some ideas in advance about it in case it actually does stick.)

Brian had his class last night. He told me the previous night, and Emily and I decided to continue watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica from where we left off last summer.
