May. 30th, 2021 06:20 amMom has decided not to buy a new AC for now, because since that one day, for the most part, it hasn't been hot enough to need it on at all, and it actually got pretty cold yesterday (enough for me to decide to take it back out this morning). She said that things go on sale all the time, and are especially bound to again for the 4th of July weekend.

Brian and Emily were out in Yonkers with some old friends of theirs for most of yesterday.
Asked Marie and Drew at noon if they'd like to eat out, and we decided upon Friendly's in the next hour. In the meantime, the two of them decided to have a tour of the catboat Dad was working on, and he wound up explaining a lot as we sat on its deck. Brian and one of his friends Gonzalo, from Argentina, also came back home just briefly and joined us.
At Friendly's, Drew ordered some kind of salad with tomatoes and boiled eggs, Marie ordered some kind of red soup, and I had a crispy chicken melt and a side of adult mac 'n' cheese. I only ate half my sandwich because it was way too spicy for me, but then decided to get a Hunka Chunka PB Fudge Lava Cake. Marie asked if we could get it to go, and ordered it for me, and the waitress must have assumed it was for all three of us, because boxed in was three scoops of ice cream and three spoons. Having assumed it was just gonna be on a plate, I brought it up to the apartment so that our parents wouldn't say anything to me about saving half for later, but I wound up deciding anyway just to have one scoop and save the rest for several nights' worth of dessert.
(Drew had also asked if we could hit Café Gia one of these days while we were eating out. We should make a point of that too, yeah.)
-----
At some point after we came home, the three of us and Mom played a game of Scrabble while she was baking a banana crumb cake to bring to the Maloneys' today.
One of my words was "gif", which Marie brought up a debate on about whether or not that constitutes a real word. In the end, we let it stand.
Marie won the game just one point above Mom.
