dmxratedA day or so ago, someone on Upwork showed me a mod she supposedly created. Asked if she could mod PSX games, she claimed as much, and I would have given her Suikoden to clean up just to start with, but Orbay mentioned the other day having found someone who seemed interested in this project but needed a few days before deciding whether to join or not.
I asked Orbay yesterday morning if that other person made his mind up, and he said he'd ask then. I still have yet to hear back again, but in the meantime, I proposed to Kritesh a simple decensorship hack of the PSP version of Persona 2: Innocent Sin. (Getter Love!! is still gonna have to wait for its completed translation, assuming that is in fact coming soon, and I have contacted ozidual yesterday afternoon before running some errands with Mom, after planning originally for another couple of weeks when he estimated more than a month ago how much longer it should take.)
I let her know that I was not going to pay the full amount I had offered in the listing just for one graphical change and several text edits, but over the course of hours from there she went on to suggest two-thirds, then half, before I suggested $50.
I then realized that maybe that isn't the most practical game to suggest as a holdover, given how late in the game the changes affect anything (she'd have to play the whole game through to familiarize herself, which would warrant paying more than for just the edits themselves). By that point, I went on to suggest Suikoden to her, offering $200 just to start with. Had she accepted that, I would have let Orbay know to bring up a different game yet with the person he spoke to.
She declined, and that seems like all the more reason never to suggest Persona 2 again. (I know ROMhacking is a lot of work that I don't know the first thing about, but I still can't offer up my entire budget for just one game. I might redouble what I list for later, when I resume seeking modders at all and should have more money to spare.)
