dmxratedMy laptop's touchpad turned out to be glitchy yesterday morning, but still usable for just a short while. I recall even back in California having an issue while I was doing something on Google Docs (probably copy-and-pasting), but now, the cursor is fidgety, the screen randomly zoomed in at one point, I was unable to copy-and-paste an image, and it was almost impossible to highlight some text correctly.
I was able to use it just long enough to talk to Xuebo Zhu about Earthbound Zero for a while, but as soon as I got a new applicant for Super Mario RPG, I found myself barely able to use the cursor properly, and I had to put him aside for a few hours. Managed to retrieve my older laptop, but it turns out that its battery is swollen now.
Not helping is that Mom is sick now, and was barely in the mood to deal with any of this. Brian did manage to give some input, stating that the best course of action would be just to buy an external touchpad. They are both too old to bring anywhere for repairs
Mom soon had to drive to the hospital, not coming home until dusk. I looked around at some touchpads, and got Brian's input before buying one on eBay that should be arriving next week.
We soon looked into running my now battery-less laptop on just the charger, after I looked around at some new batteries for it, but even that's become a moot point. For some reason, I cannot enter the last character of my password that I specifically have taped on the bottom, and Brian and I came to agree that that one is simply no longer worth maintaining.
So now, I'm mostly stuck with using Dad's computer for stuff, at least when Brian's up in the apartment and working. Right now, Brian isn't even here, and I am typing this entry from my desktop, but this situation overall would be all the more reason for now to keep my online activities to a minimum. It's a good thing I only ever used that laptop as a backup for when I can't access my desktop, and I am making sure to keep my new touchpad together with it at all times for any trip we ever go on.
