Brian finally got around to reading Starbound's story outline yesterday morning. Mom came home early from work, and I made a point of eating lunch out with Brian at Bagels 'n' a Hole Lot More, where it would be much more conducive than at home to discuss how to continue planning the game.

(Noticed one flavor of cream cheese that has bacon, tomatoes, and scallions. I should get a bagel with that next time we go there, instead of just scallions.)

My touchpad arrived yesterday afternoon. Booted up my laptop to try it out, but even after replacing the batteries, it still won't power on for some reason. Mom has suggested I ask Brian for help when he wakes up, before I contact the seller.

Mom had already finished painting the dining room ceiling a short while ago, and Dad is now finished sanding the walls. All that's left for them is to paint the walls before I can finally move back down, but Mom has told me this morning that she would like for me to start spending more time in the apartment than in the house, where I have a lot more privacy and can pace around and talk to myself without bothering her and Dad.

Honestly, though, I would much prefer to be back in my room, where it's a lot more conducive for gaming.

To start with, I like having my original bed to sit down on, next to a wall that's not too far across the room from my TV or PC, close enough that I can hook a controller up to said PC and still have something to lean back on. (Even though the Switch has a wireless controller and can be played alternately as a handheld, I still like being closer to my computer as well, where I set up Google Sheets to keep track of stuff, and that thing is actually heavy enough to weigh down on my wrists and numb them.)

I also prefer that to just my computer chair from where to watch stuff that can just watch online, instead of having to subscribe to Funimation, one of the few channels I can access through the TV in the loft, just to be able to watch something up there on a couch. (That is also why I used to rent DVDs to watch in the living room, despite having free access to the same shows on YouTube back then, something that continued for a while even after I got my own desktop for in my room.)

Added: Addressed said concerns with my parents, and we have agreed to bring the couch and TV in the loft down to the main floor, once we get around to moving a table behind me out somewhere. (Really, there does not seem to be any real reason for those to remain up there in particular.)

We have also agreed to see how well one of our air conditioners cools the apartment itself down, and to let me come back into the house for the summer if it doesn't work well enough.
