Jul. 7th, 2022 05:08 amStarted feeling overwhelmed yesterday morning with a new task at hand to transcribe all my exchanges with Muhammad onto Google Docs to show Brian (and now Marie, who picked up on some red flags from yesterday's entry). Decided at that point just to indulge in a new game of Disgaea as it is, just to have a breather, and that only led to a day-long hassle.
Gathered stuff to bring down, expecting just to start staying in the house early (Mom later told me I could still sleep in the apartment while coming down to play). Moved my personal TV and my Switch back into place, found my iPad and the remote for my personal DVD player in the topleft desk drawer, but that reminded me about the TV remote, which wasn't there. Looked everywhere I could think of for that, just to get that ready for when I'd need it, until I found it in a bin back in the apartment, where we had also put my Wii. Not surprised to find it there, though, since I originally expected just to live back in my room after Mom's paint job.
Went on to start the game up, played through the tutorial, bought some stuff at the battle depot that I went on to equip, and then sent Laharl to propose Raise Military Funds at the Dark Assembly. Not surprisingly, he only had 5 mana of the 10 required, which I was gonna boot up my laptop in lieu of my regular computer to mark down on Google Sheets, which only started acting up on me.
(I should also note that, not counting anything equipped, I currently have only the three Mint Gums you start with, an Opened Drink, and three weapons, to bribe anyone with, and with only 5 HL after shopping around, the next best place for items would be Geo Puzzles in the Item World.)
I ran the issue past Mom, she suggested I bring down my other laptop, and this time, that wouldn't boot up even while plugged in. We then went upstairs to retrieve my desktop, and then noticed my old one that we decided to bring down instead. (We also went on to agree to revisit this particular issue when it really matters, such as if I go somewhere I cannot bring a desktop, in order to avoid any further surprises like this.)
That, of course, came with its own problems. First, the monitor's plug that goes with that computer was missing, and I couldn't find it where I looked. Mom doubted at first that it would be in the attic, having been up there several times since we moved everything, but then suggested I set the ladder up anyway to have a look up there herself. Sure enough, she did find that, and I went back upstairs to retrieve a mouse, keyboard, and power strip I had spotted along the way.
Good thing I found that mouse, because the one we found in one of my desk drawers is too dysfunctional to even keep as a backup. The keyboard, though, does power on when switched on, but fails to actually enter anything I type. (Mom then agreed to buy me a new one from BestBuy when she comes home from work, taking that off my allowance, and I went on to mark my plans down on my upstairs computer.)
(As of this morning, I have cancelled my plans. I made the mistake yesterday of excluding character deletion and changing someone's name, and went on to roll a cubic 3 while typing this entry, which denotes the former and warrants just leaving instead. In a way, it's a good thing I couldn't go through with things yesterday, but today, I am going to put Lime, my first Prinny, through a promotion exam.)
