Aug. 26th, 2022 03:47 amFrom early on in this playthrough that I started last two days ago, following two Item World runs before I'd tackle the first main stage, one of my Prinnies, Limbo, got slated to recruit a Crusader, the fourth tier in an ultimate class that requires you to level an Archer, female Healer, and Knight all to 100. The last of those in turn requires you to level a female Warrior and Mage both to 10.
For anyone requiring other classes, I decide all secondary characters' quality in advance, which determines the final cost of recruiting someone. In this case:
Crusader: Skilled (1,000 mana)
Angel (basic Celestial Host): Good-for-Nothing (3)
Healer: Incompetent (10)
Archer: Genius (6,000)
Knight: Skilled (400)
Warrior: Incompetent (10)
Mage: Average (50)
At that time, Limbo had 21 mana, and so, I recruited the Healer and Warrior simultaneously. From there, as planned so as not to create more units than necessary, I made a point instead to transmigrate everyone, which costs an extra 100 mana each time, once they reached their required level.
Suffice to say, my Warrior, Nadia, did not take long to reach it, and already had the required 150 mana to transmigrate into a Red Mage. And just last night, she accumulated the required 500 to transmigrate into a Knight, after already reaching level 15, but the class wasn't there when I visited the Dark Assembly.
Naturally, I deduce that you need someone of both classes in your party in order for the game to register the requirements as fulfilled.
Had I known that, I would have recruited just Nadia, ground Limbo another 49 mana in total for a separate Mage and the Healer. Whichever of the first two recruits amassed 500 second* would be the one to transmigrate into the Knight, while the other would go on to aim for 6,100 to become an Archer, having already accumulated more than the other faster.
(*Unless someone were to get slated along the way to recruit someone else requiring either to unlock, in which case the one in question would be the one to become an Archer, in order to supplement any other requirements involved first. (For example, a Thief requires a Warrior and Martial Artist (either gender each) at level 10**, so the already recruited Warrior would just stick around while the Mage transmigrates first.))
(**Disgaea Wiki says level 5, but that probably applies to pre-Complete versions. I distinctly recall having to level both classes to 10 in an old playthrough before getting to recruit one. In fact, I have just now edited the page for the Complete-exclusive female variety.)
But anyway, coming off from such a major error as this, I am starting over, wiping the slate clean given the nature of this game, and as a bonus, I will also be able to arrange one whole shopping session for after the tutorial, when I'll already have some free equipment and the 300 HL Zommie gives you then.
