Sep. 28th, 2022 04:49 amManaged to show Mom and Marie episode 7 of Digimon mid-afternoon.
This is one show whose (western) opening theme I would rather not sit through. After the episode ended, I filled them in on several differences between its Japanese and English versions, with that being one of them.
Basically, though, having seen what anime opening (and ending) lyrics are like normally, it is just weird now listening to something that consists mostly of "Digimon, digital monsters, Digimon are the champions!", with only two distinct lines in total throughout.

Showed them episode 10 of Pokemon later in the afternoon. I could've sworn I had found that episode the fourth one available to buy on Prime, but I had a hard time finding it at first this time. Marie located it on Netflix, which is not in Smartcast's app lineup, but I was able to type it in instead, and there it was.
At one point, Marie suggested I also show Mom Snorlax and Jigglypuff. After the episode ended, I skipped to the former's appearance in Wake Up, Snorlax!, letting that scene run for about a minute, but things were slightly less straightforward in The Song of Jigglypuff. Basically, there is a lot more than I remembered that goes on between Jigglypuff's initial appearance and when she actually sings.
In any case, Marie deemed that show to be her favorite thus far to watch, and I could surely put on any episode of her choice next time she comes here alone. Probably not worth watching in depth, and while I could put on an individual episode or so for Drew, this show in particular, even compared to Lucky Star or Popotan, would clash way too much for my tastes with Kanon without other shows to balance things out. (For this visit, we went down something of a sliding scale from dark to cheery.)
(And sure enough, I found Card Captor Sakura on Netflix, although that should probably wait until after my free trial with Prime.)
