We have had a new dryer delivered to us two days ago.

After helping Dad bring our old one up the stairs to the driveway, he went to The Home Depot, and I got took shop vacuum to what is now an empty space until we move the new one into place. Wound up vacuuming from beyond just there, and at one point, I unplugged something to plug the vacuum near the staircase to the dining room.

From there, my Internet connection in the apartment had gone down. It turned out to be okay in the house, but when I brought it up with Mom when she came home, she was the one who discovered it to be the plug that I left unplugged.

Need to remember to plug stuff back in when I'm done using an outlet.

Yesterday's episode of Mahoromatic was about her origins as a combat gynoid. Early on, she says that every part of her was built for combat, and Mom asked why anyone would bother giving her breasts. I added why anyone would even design her to look human (complete with a personality and physiology, for that matter), but also stated that such a question is exactly what eventually led me back to this, after having brought it up on Reddit two years ago where someone stated it to be answered in the last main episode. (It could have something to do with the idea of reincarnation, though, which explicitly went on to come up in this episode.)

(Basically, it related to Starbound. Similarly to how Poo in Earthbound cannot recover much from most foodstuffs due to a specialized diet as per his training, my equivalent character Robin will not be able to consume food at all (instead recovering her HP with certain items derived from Mega Man) because she is a gynoid built specifically for combat and nothing else. This also happens to mirror two characters from Phantasy Star IV, from what I gather about that game, who have certain healing items mutually exclusive from others', and who also cannot suffer most status ailments (also true back with Robin). However, I do feel slightly bad that Robin will be physically unable to enjoy most foods the rest of the party will, and if not for Multi's own inability in To Heart to eat (commented on by Hiroyuki) despite cooking being part of her primary purposes as a maid robot, it would be seemingly clear that Mahoro would need some sense of taste in order to be able to cook, which is what led back to the question here about her humanoid design.)

(If reincarnation has anything to do with it here, it does help that Robin's skin tone is based on three Indian Buddhist priests the main four cross paths with in Kyoto late in Lucky Star, after I had once learned on Cracked of Indians having once served in the Wehrmacht in Germany. Reincarnation is a major belief in Hinduism.)

Yesterday before dinner, I had joined Dad while he was watching something about the origin of water on our planet. He had to pause to join Marie in a Gchat group where she asked where some rocks came from that she saw somewhere.

I noticed on his iPad that Marie had assumed the name Uguu Crew there, complete with an icon of Ayu, and commented that she and Drew must really be looking forward to seeing more of Kanon. Dad told me he had actually been wondering about that, and I eventually dropped Marie a line to comment upon returning to the apartment.
