A car somehow caught fire last night barely a short distance away from our house on Long Island Avenue. Mom called me to come see it, and I met her and Dad near Masem Court just across the street from what used to be the Lilys' house. We watched until the fire department came and sprayed it down.

Noticed when I had dinner that Mom's new issue of Cook's Illustrated depicted a basket full of kiwis, but there was nothing listed either on said cover or in the table of contents specializing in those. Even Mom found that kinda weird.
