One of my biggest pet peeves with RPGs:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEzx_wtcHAo

This is something I plan to address in my planned series of randomization challenge walkthroughs, and had also made plans to counteract (see "Priority" and "Focused attacks") in Lucky Star: Day of the Beehive. (The availability of healing spells and frequent recovery opportunities also factors in here; for that game, I plan for only Rokuna and Konata to know or learn Lifeup while everyone present out of all twelve PCs overall participates in battle.)

Here is what I wrote before to conclude the introductory page to my Earthbound walkthrough:

There is more to randomization than going through the motions.

In this guide, I will show you when and how to make actual use of what you buy or otherwise obtain, instead of either tossing or selling stuff, using stuff up just to make room for more stuff, or keeping dead weight, which would defeat the purpose of buying something in the first place.

In turn, that will entail battle tactics in which to include that. I will also mark down locations of things to find and even
when to take some of them, since the idea here is to treat everything in the game as valuable in some way, including Rulers and Protractors.

Along with such things as reminders of when to start doing or anticipating something, that’s why this is essentially a full-fledged walkthrough, even as I omit obvious straightforward things like where to find Picky during the prologue or enemy tactics for that part of the game.

This video by the same person as of that above, about crafting, is also right up my alley:

He talks about how useless it often is to bother with such a concept in games that don't specifically revolve around it, but a guideline for when to tap into it is exactly one of the my planned purposes for other different walkthroughs I've had plans for.

Mom and I have started watching How Heavy are the Dumbbells You Lift? last night, and agreed to try out some of the different excercises and instructions showcased in each episode each next visit to our own gym. I'm gonna have to rewatch those bits on my computer before each said visit.
