dmxratedHaving dawned on me yesterday, it became a good thing I didn't get to come with Brian and Emily to Grandma's.
Just shortly after they left, Dad accidentally spilled a bottle of olive oil from next to the stove while cooking some eggs (I was there when he later filled Mom in on how that happened, but didn't follow along), and struggled to clean up the mess with what few paper towels we had left right on hand. I couldn't find any in the basement, and only managed to find one roll up in the apartment, which along with that wi-fi outage, makes it even better that Brian and Emily had left, so as not to disturb them.
Also a good thing I had already vacuumed the kitchen and just finished vacuuming the house overall, and was just about to start mopping anyway.
This near-shortage of paper towels was exactly what I called Mom to fill her in on, which was exactly when Sam's tried to call me.
Just yesterday afternoon, though, Mom discovered another roll in a coffee box we keep above our basement staircase, underneath an upside-down stone roasting pan she was retrieving for some stuffed peppers.
