Whenever I would take walks where we had just been on vacation, I would walk down the middle of the street, and move left whenever I heard a car coming from behind. That's what I ended up doing two days ago while walking around the neighborhood with Marie and Drew, when someone came up who was about to turn left, and he shouted that he wasn't going to hit me. He was actually somewhat amused or something, unlike someone I impulsively crossed the street and back in front of when me, Brian, and his then-friend Eric Moriarty were riding our bikes home from what would be our last day ever at summer camp back in 2001.

-----

That evening during dinner, Drew told me and Brian about this show called Freaks & Geeks, which we had already seen a good few episodes of early in '01, and then Marie got on DVD for Christmas of '04 (I had also noticed a DVD set in the TV room). Brian and I mentioned not being all that fond of it, but Drew said that it took him several different viewings to really grow onto him.

-----

Yesterday, Marie was about to pour herself some Lucky Charms, and asked the same thing I wondered the other day, before we both noticed it as a promotion for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, requesting donations at your local center. The marshmallows were shaped after that organization's emblem, using its two colors in turn.

Shortly thereafter, Mom invited me into the pool with her. By the time I changed into my swimclothes, Brian had bought a bag of bagels, and I cut one in half to butter up, before letting Mom know and then coming in with her before she'd get out. Had my bagel upon coming back inside.

Having sort of remembered Brian's stated opinion before of Lucky Star, I asked him to confirm that. He said that while he doesn't consider it any sort of masterpiece, he did appreciate how nicely its last episode wraps things up.

-----

Everyone came back to our house from the vacation house, except for Brian and Emily, who were going directly back to Quincy, MA.

Halfway home, we all stopped somewhere called a junk shop, Lumber + Salt, which is actually a small shop surrounded by a yard full of assorted lumber, scrap metal, fixtures, etc., all salvaged from old buildings. (Would be easy to call it a "scrapyard", but that term more commonly refers to where stuff is discarded outright in heaps, such as (the) one just down the street where we live.)

At first, I walked a few laps around the premises, but found the sun to shine rather brightly in my eyes, and tried to retrieve my sunglasses from the car. It was locked, and I asked my parents for the key, before noticing Drew right with them alongside Marie, having this coffee drink he specified as a cortado.

Got my sunglasses, and my wallet as well, both of which were in my backpack, which I discovered right underneath our pet carrier. Took a moment to dig that out, and wound up eliminating any risk of Mabel escaping when I left it in front of the hatch.

Went inside and had a look at the menu, and wound up ordering an iced vanilla basil latte. Tried to use the restroom in advance to heading the rest of the way home, but Drew was in there, and Mom had something to say to me (can't remember what).

Drew came out, and given what he said the previous night about Freaks & Geeks, I suggested that, since he's only seen three episodes of Lucky Star, maybe he could give that at least one more chance. He seemed to agree to that, although I did promise still to prioritize Kanon, Madoka, and Made In Abyss.

(Not likely myself to give F&G another chance. Sam's since-infamous streak was the last straw for me, after multiple other episodes that made it seem all about bullying in general. If I were to give it another chance, though, I still wouldn't watch that particular episode, and I would also wish that its planned storylines for a second season (specified on TV Tropes) had a chance to play out.)

Coming home, Mom and I had arranged a bank visit to withdraw $2,000 for Dad, so that he could go back to buy a few doors for a new closet he'd like to build. After having already contacted Umaid, Kevin, and one other person on Upwork (Umaid and Muhammad got back to me) shortly before packing my laptop away, now I have reason to hold off a few days longer after having lent Dad two thirds of my current budget for until Monday or Tuesday, before I contact someone else previously interested in Super Mario RPG in case Kevin never gets back to me. (I had already put Samuel on hold for until I receive my first paycheck from work.)

-----

While Aunt Marie, Uncle Ray, and Cousin David were staying here for one night, Marie and Drew had to leave mid-afternoon for their flight back to California.

-----

Turns out that what David gave me the other day wasn't a manga volume; it was a light novel. I noticed him reading volume 4 at some point.

Also showed him another episode of Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
