dmxratedMom had to take Dad to a doctor's appointment yesterday, and I had to arrange a bus the other day to take me to BJ's. Arrived around 20 minutes early, and took then to apply for some club membership cards for myself, Mom, Brian, and Marie. Took more than half that time, and I'm glad I prioritized that over getting a quick bite at Dunkin'; decided afterwards just to use the restroom preemptively before punching in.
At some point, I noticed a leak from one of the refridgerators, and went upstairs to report it to Kristina. The top of the stairs directly faces the breakroom, and I could not help but notice a team member graduation cake and a few cookies on one of the tables before knocking for Kristina. (What a coincidence to be seeing that the first day I'd decide to forego a purchased snack.)
The office was closed, but I did spot Sara (I think that's what her nameplate said), the same person I hit up for membership cards, who then called for someone to examine it.
I normally wait til 12 to eat lunch, but one of my coworkers asked me at 11:13 if I'd like to eat lunch at 11:30. Ended up taking it at 25, since I usually check my phone after each order I participate in. The checkout went much more smoothly this time, and I asked someone upstairs to verify that that cake wasn't for graduates specifically (she said that anything made available is for everyone). Ended up finishing at 46, just six minutes over, and upon bringing that up, Melissa assured me that those in charge are not likely to make a big deal over that.
Filled Mom in on these improvements, and told her I would probably forego a snack from now on. She suggested I try ordering by app from now on, but upon looking into that later on, I decided against it mainly for not allowing me to offer cash (also because I can't ask to hold the American if I were to order a grilled cheese). (Would be glad to apply gift cards, but it would be more convenient not to make debit transactions that I'd then have to mark down back home, when I already have some off-the-books cash that some customers even contribute tips to.)
