Got around to trying out that new computer, and starting when it was first setting itself up, it ran into multiple BSODs specifying a driver power state failure throughout the day. I brought it up with Mom after trying several different things out to fix it, and she agreed to order a replacement, which she has just told me now is coming in tonight.
