Dec. 30th, 2023 06:37 amThe other day, despite the slight discomfort and the extra step when unzipping my pants, Brian suggested I always wear a belt, not just to look better, but to keep the top of my ass covered whenever I bend down.
Just yesterday morning, my pants actually did feel slightly loose, and I decided on my own to put one on. That must be a good sign that I'm actually beginning to slim down somewhat.
(Probably one good thing that I got laid off from BJ's those two months ago, given how much more active and physically demanding this job is. Losing weight was the whole reason I bothered coming with Mom to the gym, and now, I'm more or less free to cut that out of my agenda in exchange for how much more time I now spend at a job than even that previous one.)

After having arrived at work half an hour early and walking a few laps around the store to clear my head before clocking in, I asked the same person who showed me the ropes the other day, where the key is normally stored to start the cart machine with, and he led me to this safe in customer service.
That said, someone did ask me the other day to start prioritizing stragglers, and that's what I decided at first to start my actual work with. Wasn't gonna lead the machine all over the place for individual carts, but then those, along with the occasional short line corraled, was what I ended up bringing back the whole shift.

Not least of all, I also tend to go after carts that people just start unloading, and start helping them pack their goods if they're still in the middle thereof (I even once helped someone's little girl out of her cart yesterday). Shortly before my shift ended, some old lady decided to tip me. I did notice some cash in her pocketbook, but perhaps she didn't have any singles to spare, since she did fiddle with a few other things before giving me what totaled out to $2.30 in change, plus this gold coin depicting an angel on both sides:

One thing I had forgotten to bring down before everyone first arrived was my change jar. Until yesterday, I had been putting any spare change I brought home into this dish on the end of the kitchen counter before taking a nap in my bedroom. I would distribute that from Christmas Eve amongst all of us to scratch our lotto tickets off with.
Yesterday's, however, along with $.98 from lunch (totalling out to $3.28), went directly upstairs when I arrived home, before I'd show Mom, Brian, and Emily that angel coin.
