I'm recording this early because, knowing myself well enough, I know that some of the stuff that happened today is gonna be forgotten if I wait until tomorrow morning.

During midday today, Mom told me about something she previously found in her garden, called a hummingbird moth. We didn't see it this time, but according to her, it looks like a cross between a hummingbird, a bee, and a moth. She looked up hummingbirds online, but the results were different from what she saw.

Just several hours ago, Mom decided that today would be the day we go to Snowflake's in Riverhead. What better timing! Not only have we gotten one of the two things I've planned for this summer out of the way, but this is also a good way to fill in some time while I wait for 8:00 tonight. While I was playing Pokemon Pearl, I came back to Solaceon Town, and the guy at the Press requested a Weavile. I have its pre-evolved form, a Sneasel, in my collection, but from what I understand, Sneasel can only evolve at night while holding a Razor Claw.

Well anyway, what happened was that first, Mom had to pick up Marie from the library, and then she dropped me off at Borders while the two of them went clothes shopping. On the way there, we also passed that racetrack that we went to when I was in 7th grade. Two 7th-Grade-related places in one day.

During my stay there, I read the first chapters of A.I. Love You, volume 1, and Galaxy Angel, volume 3, each, along with the current issues of Sonic X and Sonic the Hedgehog. I then waited outside until Mom came back to get me, but while I was waiting, someone recognized me. She greeted me, but I didn't recognize her until she told me she was Sylvia Camacho, who I used to work for back at Suffolk. We had a brief chat before she went into the store. I went back inside, hoping to find a Newtype magazine, but no such luck.

Anyway, Mom soon came back to get me, and we drove to Snowflake's, which was just down the street from Borders. We took a few minutes to look around before placing orders. I ordered vanilla swirl w/ crushed Oreos, crushed Reese's Pieces, and mint sprinkles. The proprietress got it mostly right, except that she gave me rainbow sprinkles instead of mint. (Mom mentioned on the way home that she and Marie got the wrong flavors of ice cream.)

Originally, Mom was planning on driving back home while we eat, and gave Marie some money. However, it didn't take much effort for me to talk her into coming in with us and eating on the bench.

During the way home, we talked about some stuff that happened when I was in 7th grade. Back then, we went there to celebrate some award that Brian won, but this time around, I just came up with the idea so that I could make up for refusing to get anything the first time. Mom asked me why I punished myself, and I told her that it was because I was putting my knees up on Dad's seat, and he kiddingly said I'm not getting any.

I also brought up our plans to visit Old Westbury Garden. Grandma Barbara still has yet to find out if she can leave her house to visit us, which depends on whether or not Aunt Tracy and Uncle Steve come to visit her (she can't leave the house unattended). Mom's planning on visiting during an event called the Scottish Highlander Games. During the first time we went, even though we were just looking at gardens, it was still a special day to go there because an antique car show was being hosted there as well. The car show was secondary, but at the time, I thought we were just crossing a parking lot to get back to our car.

Anyway, Grandma might not be able to come this summer, but if she is, I hope that Marie will be here instead of visiting Scott (now in California) at the same time. But even if she can't make it during the summer, Mom did mention the possibility of going there in September.
