The Chronicles continue! For Monday, Brian's friend James shows us his copy of Snowboard Kids, giving me the chance to finally play it again for the first time in Months. Tuesday, I invite Daniel over, mainly to show off one of my South Park t-shirts, and I also receive a player's guide for a certain game that I would buy the following Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday (the latter being New Year's Eve), I spent most of sleeping over at Matthew's house. Nothing happened on New Year's Day that year, and that's where I will leave off for today.

Next game: Banjo-Kazooie

Back to the present.

Sent back: Lucky Star, disk 2. I am set to receive disk 1 of Mahoromatic, but not before receiving that DVD I ordered as a Father's Day gift for Dad.

To start off, I bought Pokemon Diamond from GameStop yesterday. I decided to get it then, because Mom had some shopping to do at Stop 'N' Shop, which is in the same shopping center as GS. I also noticed on the receipt that I could win a Wii and a Playstation 3 simply by filling out an online survey. I went ahead and took it upon coming home, though if I had seen such a thing online, I would've just dismissed it as a pop-up ad. I still have yet to hear back to see if I won.

Anyway, the fact that I'm now playing Diamond will make the Platinum era somewhat less epic than it would otherwise be. For one thing, the purpose of going back to play FireRed, Ruby, and Emerald was so that all five GBA games would have some Pokemon to select for the PAL Park. Well, Platinum *does* have a considerably larger PokeDex than Diamond or Pearl anyway. Furthermore, I will still play Platinum at some point, because that's the only game that can utilize Shaymin and Regigigas' special powers and the Secret Key. Considering that in Japan, it was the only game compatible with the past events for the Member Card and Oak's Letter, I have reason to believe that it would be the only game here compatible with any downloading events to take place within the next half year.

On the plus side, one thing that Platinum will get through the PAL Park that Diamond won't get is "gift" items (and I'm not talking about the Mystery Gift feature). While I won't be giving items away from my primary GBA set (save for Pokemon-exclusive ones or those required to evolve certain Pokemon), I will do such a thing with a secondary set of GBA games for Platinum. Furthermore, if I decide to play Pokemon Battle Revolution using the Pokemon I collect in Diamond, I'll be sure to use my PokeCoupons to buy Mystery Gift items for Platinum. (I know most of them aren't that worthwhile, but like they say, one shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.)

In other news, Mom had to look something up about swine flu while I was talking to Jake last night. She told me that someone at Marie's dorm has it, and is quarantined in his room so that no one else gets infected. He isn't in the hospital because he's not at risk of dying, but because of his condition, Marie won't be coming home this week, as originally planned.

Also, I found a website called Puchi Carat Palace last night. For the record, it only has information about the Arcade, PSX, and GBC versions of the game, which seems to suggest that no such versions exist for anything else. The person who owns it even has linked to the Wikipedia page, but even though he only mentioned the Japanese and European versions, I'm pretty sure that a "(U)" means that the game (or at least the GBC version) had been released in the United States. But anyway, here's a link, so as to dispel anything erroneous that I might've said or read off of Wikipedia:
