Well, Jake has expressed interest this morning in a list of whose hair I like and whose I don't like so much. Before I get started, though, here's one thing I'd like to say (to anyone who doesn't know or has forgotten):
With canon characters, only generic hairstyles are acceptable for hair transformation. Modeling the character's hair after an already existing character is out of the question; that is what original characters such as Hoshi are reserved for. With the "beehive" style, "generic" would be oval-shaped and symmetrical both vertically and horizontally. My pic of Usagi Tsukino, flawed as it is, would serve as an example (although I do wish I had put a dent between the top of her head and the base of her newly-formed hive).
Please also keep in mind that how big a character's hive gets depends on how long her hair was to start with.

As you can infer if you read the above cut, no embarrassment to be had by anyone listed (unless you count Hoshi, mentioned in a sidenote under Jirachi/Sarah). I'm not gonna try to name as many examples as I can think of; just the ones worth noting for some reason or another. I also already mentioned last post the concept of hair transformations and non-canon possibility of girls re-styling their hair by choice in their adulthood, first in one of the later paragraphs, and second in the fourth comment down.
Another thing I should have compared this whole thing to would be my tastes in music. With that, I've had everything figured out ages ago: I mostly like exciting songs from video games (listed in my User Info), but there are a handful of non-VG songs that are just as exciting. I do enjoy some ambient songs from games (emphasis on some), but I can't say the same for anything that's comical.
So, even though there are exceptions to that, what I like is pretty much established. Such is not quite the case with my tastes in female hairstyles, though Chelle did say that that gets decided by one's subconscious and thus isn't always logical.
