Jan. 6th, 2012 06:26 amRewatched the first four episodes of Popotan yesterday in what would be one sitting (except that I did check my messages between episodes). Brian was on the couch with me, but he was watching Daria on his laptop, and Marie was in her room doing something.

Finally finished re-reading all of Japanese in Mangaland, volume 3. Having read all the material a second time has sure reminded me of the days before I played Getter Love!! for the first time, and today, I plan on taking a break from reading everything to play that game for a short while before I start reading Kanji in Context once and for all.
On a side-note, though, here's a funny little coincidence: First, let's take a few example lines from the very last lesson, which teaches passive and causative verb conjugations:
Sensei wa gakuseitachi o hashiraseta.
(The teacher made the students run.)
Haha wa watashi ni ofuru no souji o saseta.
(My mother made me clean the bath.)
Okasan wa kodomo ni puru e ikaseta.
(The mother let the boy go to the pool.)
Now, let's combine certain parts of each into one sentence:
Sensei wa gakuseitachi ni puru o souji o saseta.
(The teacher made the students clean the pool.)
So, where are we getting at?

Brian will be leaving today, so we decided to celebrate his birthday a couple of nights early. Mom brought home a marble cheesecake and ordered two pizzas, and I came with her to pick up the latter. One of them was half-pepperoni and half-mushrooms, and the other one was half-anchovies (which Brian was eager to try out) and half-cheese. I started with a pepperoni slice and two garlic knots, before trying out an anchovy slice. I ate a few bites of it, but the anchovies themselves smelled faintly like something I wouldn't like, even though Brian sure seemed to enjoy them. I gave the rest of that slice to Brian, before having a cheese slice and another garlic knot. (I already know well enough that I don't like mushrooms.)
Watched several episodes of Daria and Black Adder each after we finished having dinner. Dad went to have a shower right before Brian played the first episode of Black Adder, and he figured he'd start it over once Dad got out. (We actually just continued watching.)
Before the second episode, we had a brief intermission so that Mom could put the candles on the cake. She brought it into the living room (instead of in the dining room, where we usually eat cake), and then started serving everyone after Brian blew the candles out. I didn't bother watching the second episode of Black Adder, and had my own slice in the dining room, before getting ready for bed.
