Went to the post office and the library with Mom yesterday. Noticed a rather funny birthday card that Grandpa Bob would surely like next year, during our time at the post office. Mom had some shopping to do at King Kullen while I returned Magical Meow Meow Taruto and several books of hers and looked around for other anime. Found Save Me! Lollipop.

Had a particularly bad experience with Jake last night.

To begin with, Jake has already expressed not too long ago, being fed up with talking about Earthbound's spot on the sliding scale between silliness and seriousness. Just last night, I asked him about how much depth he perceives in the game's plot, compared to what Chelle perceived as just stuff happening for no real reason due to its zany, surreal nature. He gave me an earful that included "Just do whatever you want."

Now, it does suck whenever I get on anyone's nerves. In such instances, I tend to blame myself for having said the wrong thing during a given exchange, but I don't normally fall into depression over it. Not gonna talk right now about why *this* is more profound, because I don't want to set him off any further than I already have. Might do so later, when he's in a better mood (or unless he asks).

(To be fair, he *did* say that he was having some kind of cold since 4 A.M. and thus wasn't feeling very rested.)

Read the newly uploaded fifth chapter of Cries Unheard, hoping to get my mind off of what happened. In practice, the events of that fic so far only mixed in with what already was on my mind, and made it harder to sleep. I mean, we already know from the start that the boys that the mains befriend do horrible things to them and eventually pay with their lives; the real question is, will the girls be able to avoid life in prison for having killed them? Even if they do, things are still going to be much darker for them than before they had met said boys. And since one of said boys' fathers is a yakuza boss, it seems likely that he will come after Miyuki's parents (who had gotten acquainted with him) and kill them before they can post her bail.

From there, I did remove Fanfiction.net's Lucky Star archive from my bookmarks so that I wouldn't continually check for updates until after the fic is complete. This is yet one more of those stories that I don't like the direction it's headed; in this case, particularly like StarCrossed, because one of the main reasons is that it's all four of the franchise's main characters and no one else who are being directly abused, even if others are being abused on the sidelines.

Watched an episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which *did* work briefly, but then asked Chelle if she uses AIM, since she did used to use MSN. To get my exchange with Jake off my mind was part of the reason I asked, but in general, I feel like a leech to constantly ask her for suggestions on various things without sharing stuff in general with her (save through this blog). I mean, I do read her blogs on this site and Tumblr, and I do share stuff with her that she might like every now and then, but she once did say that she's tired of being little more than people's advisor and would appreciate emotional support about her own issues. She, however, did mention on Live.com that, unlike Jake, she isn't one to bring stuff up herself very often, so I guess that makes us even at least in that aspect.

I should mention, though, that item #6 in this cracked.com article states that the key to success is to find the right people with the right experience and not pissing them off. (Incidentally, #10 on the list is something that the mains really could have used before meeting the antagonists in the aforementioned Cries Unheard.)
