Feb. 26th, 2015 05:53 amBeat Paper Mario last night. Might play the next two games in line at some point, although Sticker Star is pretty much out of the question unless I ever obtain a Nintendo 3DS.
As for the immediate reason why I started playing it... Well, let me take a few quotes from TV Tropes.
First, under Executive Veto:
Super Mario Galaxy is noted for having a relatively complex plot for a Mario game, but Shigeru Miyamoto kept the team from going further in that direction for the sequel, reflecting his belief that Mario games shouldn't really have deep plots.
And, under Vindicated By History:
Super Paper Mario caused a Broken Base due to using real-time battles and being quite a bit easier than the previous two games. It's mostly died down (especially with the release of Paper Mario: Sticker Star to take the heat off), with the game being viewed as different, but enjoyable, and especially appreciated for its storyline (quite uncommon for Mario), and its meta gameplay-related jokes have aged well.
Appreciated for its storyline. Quite uncommon for Mario.
For the record, the only other Mario game I know of to have any kind of depth is Super Mario RPG. ( Spoilers )

Anyway, still got eight episodes left to watch of Little Busters, before bringing it (along with those magazines) to my library today. Will reorganize my agenda probably tomorrow.
