Uncle Robby told me yesterday morning that this beach is where a lot of treasure was presumably discovered, from ships transporting it all from South America to Spain.

Mom and I walked down the beach, and we noticed these tiny, colorless, rubbery blobs lining the shore. At first, she couldn't tell whether they were some kind of organism or medical waste, and we took one back to the house to identify on her phone. They turned out to be men-o-war, and we told Brian and Marie about them. Marie asked her how she could be so stupid as to pick up the most poisonous thing in the world, but I at some point suggested she might've been thinking of the Portuguese variety with all those tentacles.

Brian and I accompanied Mom later to this grocery store called Publix. I was able to pick out some juice and salad dressing there, and really, I should make a point next time we go shopping, to pick out some dressings that we've never had before, such as peppercorn ranch.

Went with Brian, Emily, Marie, and Drew in the afternoon to this wildlife refuge called Captain Forster Hammock Preserve, where we hiked several trails.

And shortly before dinner, I joined Marie and Drew in this hottub underneath the main house.
