Jun. 6th, 2026 06:11 amBrian invited me to grab a quick bite at Dunkin' yesterday at 8. For an early lunch, I asked him to order me a sesame bagel with cream cheese and a Marshmallow Dunkalatte, along with a free strawberry-iced donut with sprinkles for National Donut Day.

On our way to The Bristal, Mom had urged me to keep that job even if I get hired somewhere else, due to the kinds of benefits only it would provide.
The person I spoke to the other day told me then that I would be working from 12 to 8 every Wednesday through Friday. The person he was filling in then for, my actual director, told me it would be 4 to 8 Tuesday through Friday, except for Thursdays from 12 to 8. This basically renders dinner mostly a moot point, when Mom could just cook something before driving me over, and even on Thursdays, when I'd get a half-hour meal break, I could still hop over to a nearby shopping center or even grab something in-house. SCAT will also be limited to Thursdays as an issue, since Mom is already long home from work on the other days.
He also asked me to come right back to the home once I receive back what Dr. Mattimoe is supposed to fill out.
Given how strongly Mom urged me to gravitate towards that job and says even others like Emily and Aunt Allison back up, I also brought up the issue of promotions at the end, which raises are tied to. He told me that we could discuss moving me up a rung about three months after I prove competent at my starting position. (I have heard of people climbing up from grunt work to management and such, so here's hoping I can start making some real money then, depending on what each job's actual duties in question involves, if YouTube doesn't end up dwarfing even that.)
Given such convenient hours that have been scheduled for me, I went on to cancel my appointments at Starbucks and Superstar. (Will need to decide what to do about Black Pearl or Ugly Dumpling if either of those come back up.)
Mom also managed to reschedule my physical for 1:45 still on Monday. Given how shortly prior she normally arrives home from work, Brian agreed at my request to drive me to the mall then, where she normally meets me still close to Catholic Health.
(Despite finally making money again soon, I am probably going to hold further off on ROMhacks until I have that last Earthbound change sorted out, play through the hack itself for any bugs, and then get the relevant video put together. Will likely sort out other commissions one at a time.)

Shortly thereafter was the first time since I got briefly hired at BJ's, when Mom stopped renewing her membership in favor of one there, that she and I have visited Sam's Club. From what she told me, she got a new membership on a discount to buy a new air conditioner, but ended up buying a cheaper AC at Costco after enrolling.
Ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza, a pretzel, and a brownie sundae.

Maris was playing in a small swimming pool that Brian had set up earlier in the day when we got home. I eventually joined him, Mom, and Emily to watch her, and he eventually took just his shirt off to join her in his shorts.

Put on S1E1 of Killing Slimes for Brian and Maris after they and the others all had dinner (I was full from Sam's). Emily and Mom were talking, and decided just to treat it as background.
Halfway through, Maris wanted to switch gears, so I offered Nyanko Days next. That being in Japanese (although I should have mentioned the English subtitles, in case that would've made any difference), Brian declined such a show that she wouldn't be able to follow along with, so I put on Magical Meow Meow Taruto instead, and Mom and Emily joined us for that.
Emily and Maris left after that, and a few minutes later, Brian asked to see episode 5 of Goblin Slayer (we already watched 4 earlier in the day). (He also mentioned at some point wanting to see more of Mahoromatic someday.)
Put on the rest of that Killing Slimes episode after showing him that GS episode in one go.
