Quite by coincidence, my phone payment had also expired, and that had nothing to do with the Internet. I found out when I tried to ring Mom up shortly before she got home, and then tried calling Brian.

I assumed it still had to do with what was displayed on the Internet status icon, because I wasn't able to open any Facebook text windows either, but both of those were easily remedied just by resetting the wi-fi.
