dmxratedMy parents spoke to me last night about my issues. Given everything they gather from me, they say that Jake might've just been dicking me around the whole time, even though I do have reason to doubt that given how much better a friend he was for most of our relationship.
They were watching TV at that time, and I spoke to Mom alone as soon as she got up to tend to dinner. She told me that even though things seemed to have taken a turn for the better during our last exchange, and it was my idea in the first place to hold off on any further discussion, Jake might have just been blowing me off when he said that a family business trip he was on was going on until the following weekend. Have reason to doubt that just yet, though, since he's only said that once so far and actually has gotten back to me each time before.
Either way, I have still gone ahead and invited him to address any remaining issues preventing him from being friends with me, two from before of which were topics that rub him the wrong way and his fear of being manipulated back into the project, both of which we have more or less settled. I can't keep going on like this for possibly until next summer. All I want is to express what bothers me (of which I've already fleshed out more than enough details) and reach some sort of understanding with him, and I hope this has at least been enough time for him to cool off from our last exchange.

Just uninstalled The World Ends With You and got a refund for it. Should've had the sense to check for any new content planned for the Switch version like I did with Odin Sphere; from there, I might consider suggesting Mom and Brian chip in for a Switch (possibly with Super Bomberman R, if just for immediate use) for me to open up for my celebration (Marie has just offered the other day to help fund Wanikani whenever I come back to that). (That player's guide that just got shipped after order should still be a worthwhile investment, though.)
